National Fairground Museum

A new home for part of the Fairground Heritage Trust collection at Statfold Country Park

With the sale of the previous site used by the Fairground Heritage Trust to display its collection, we were delighted to be invited by Graham Lee, Chairman and Founder of the Statfold Narrow Gauge Museum Trust (SNGMT) to make a new home in Staffordshire.

Both SNGMT and Graham, personally, have invested significant sums in what we now call the ‘National Fairground Museum’ (nearly £2million at the time of writing). This represents the largest single investment in the history of travelling fairgrounds on record and includes Statfold acquiring the Ghost Train from its previous owner (it having been on long-term loan to the FHT), culminating in the full restoration of the unique Fred Fowle artwork that fronts this impressive ride.

The majority of the displays in this museum come from the Fairground Heritage Trust Collection, which was moved in 2025 as part of a £270,000 project part-funded by a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to save the collection and ensure its display for generations come.
Thanks to the generosity of Graham Lee, Statfold Narrow Gauge Museum Trust and the National Lottery Players the FHT collection now has a permanent home at the National Fairground Museum where generations of visitors can now visit and enjoy All The Fun Of The Fair!
