In accordance with government guidance, our museum: Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre has not been opened for the 2020 season.
Specific guidance on when we might be allowed to reopen remains unclear.
This uncertainty and the guidance on Social Distancing restrictions , revised hygiene and operational changes we would have to impose were we to open would greatly increase costs and lead to significantly reduced income.
Taking this and the revenue that we have already lost to date, the Trustees have made the decision that the Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre will remain closed for 2020 and will not reopen until Feb/March 2021.
The Fairground Heritage Trust would like to apologise to visitors and enthusiasts for the closure this year and would like to thank all of our staff who have been laid-off as a result of this difficult situation.
The Trust hopes to reopen Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre in 2021 with a new building doubling the size of our under-cover displays offering a sustainable museum while greatly increasing the facilities that we offer to visitors and enthusiasts alike.
The Fairground Heritage Trust is entirely supported by donations and the revenue received through the operation of Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre. In these extremely difficult times, with the Centre closed, we are seeking emergency funding from various agencies and donations to keep the Trust operating.
We have always been grateful for the support from the public and now, in these exceptional times, we are appealing again. A donation, no matter how small to be made via this link.
All enquiries about the closure or of the operations of the Trust should be addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org
